THE LITTLE FOLK SCHOOL
LEARNING COLLABORATIVE & RESOURCE CENTER

We are looking to the future and exploring growth opportunities for The Little Folk School. We would like to secure a larger location for our homebase that would allow us to expand our enrollment and offer additional programming for our community through our Learning Collaborative. Due to state and local restrictions, many hurdles come with opening a secular children's program, and taking this step as a completely independent microschool is even more challenging.

We welcome conversations from community members and local organizations regarding available locations, funding resources, and partnership opportunities. If you are interested in being part of our growth conversations and planning, feel free to let us know. If you would like to contribute to our fundraising, please visit our new FreeFunder link or reach out personally.

We want to ensure that these next steps are sustainable, just as we have with every growth decision we've made in the last five years since we opened. To secure the upfront funding needed, in addition to the new FreeFunder page, we are also applying for some amazing grant opportunities available for microschools like us.

The vision for our Learning Collaborative takes inspiration from the programs linked below.

Rock Tree Sky Learning Center

The mission of Rock Tree Sky is to cultivate an inclusive learning community where everyone develops their whole self through directing their learning in relationship with others. The heart of Rock Tree Sky Learning Community is to hold space for interest-driven, relationship-rich, non-formal learning.

Nomad Middle School

A project-based school for visionaries, innovators, makers, and storytellers. Our model is designed to emphasize the experience and process of collecting and applying knowledge so that students recognize that they can do anything.
